Found a test yard!

After much networking and many emails I have finally found a test yard in NE Portland. It is a foreclosed home that was recently purchased after sitting empty for a year. The house sits on an acre of land and has some large trees so there is a great deal of opportunity along with some challenge. I will be posting the before pictures here and have updates as I get the design in place.

Now I have to think about phase 2 of starting up the business. My dream is to partner with a nonprofit and teach people receiving food assistance from the government how to grow food in their yard. Food prices are only going up and it is easy to grow food here in Oregon. I would like to have a small network of yards in place and set to expand from by the start of the growing season in March.

Looking for a small wilderness

I am looking for a wrecked yard.

Really.

If you have a yard in the metro area of Portland OR that is a total overgrown wreck then I would love to help. Are you too busy? Not sure where to start? I am here for you.

I want to find a yard that needs a makeover which designs a space that will grow food, recycle waste and create beauty.

I will provide free labor, tools and supplies. You would provide the yard, water for the plants, and hopefully a bit of patience as I sort things out. I would want to chronicle the process in photographs on this blog and tailor the design of the yard to fit your needs and preferences.
